Is Sound, Frequency, and Vibration the New Technology?

Event Details

When you’re getting into a conversation, you want to receive the response you need. It all matters on how you sound, your pitch, your frequency, and the vibration you gave during the conversation. Our special guest NLP Master Practitioner William Spiers will explore the effect of sound, vibration, and intent on the crystals of frozen water and a lot more, so don’t miss this exciting discussion.

About The Speaker

William Spiers is an NLP-certified Master Practitioner (Grinder-Delozier) and the UK certified Logistics Trainer having trained with John Grinder, Richard Bandler, Judith Delozier, Robert Dilts, Paul McKenna, Michael Beale, John Seymour, Joseph O’Connor, UK Government. 2. Our Intuition, or “higher self” is the catalyst to manage all interacting frequencies.

Introduction to Professional Coaching

Introduction to Professional Coaching:

Quick opportunity to upskill, earn a new certificate, experience and learn the basics of Professional Coaching.

Coaching is one of the fastest-growing industries worldwide. That means you can make a difference and earn a living coaching others (even if you don’t have experience or doubt yourself). The benefits of coaching include:

  •         Lifestyle freedom – Setting your own hours and living life on your terms. You can even coach effectively on the phone.
  •         Uncapped possibilities – A big reason why many people are seeing it as the smart alternative to their 9-5 job.
  •         Pandemic proof business – Can be done face to face, or virtually. You can work from the comfort of your own home or anywhere in the world.
  •         Get paid for your Personal Development – You are effectively earning as you learn.
  •         Unlimited applications – you can walk into a business and start coaching the owners, and their staff, or work in the virtual world.

The problem is once you start researching coaching courses, there is so much conflicting information out there. Most companies make it sound more complex than it actually is and people begin doubting their abilities and start believing they must become super successful first in order to make a living helping others.

The truth is, becoming a successful coach is a PROCESS. And it’s not difficult when you are taught correctly. Coaching is a set of skills, and skills can be learned. These skills are guided by your deeper unconscious. Once your deeper unconscious is aligned and trained, the skills come out with ease.

The second big truth, you will need to be good, but you may not need certifications. There are countless associations, boards and organisations appearing to be authorities in the field and some of the biggest become the biggest by lowering standards. Doesn’t sound right hey. Boards lowering standards, but it’s true, it’s one way to make sure you can get more people and grow.

Your clients care more about how confident and professional you are as a coach and the results you help empower them to achieve. Our training will help you get started faster.

In our “Introduction to Professional Coaching” sessions, we are teaching you the basics of ICF style coaching and corporate coaching, so you can learn and start to coach like a pro without spending thousands and thousands of dollars.

The psychology of wealth creation with Adrian Cahill

Date: Wednesday, October 16, 2019 19:00 to 21:00
Venue: @Wework, 819 West Nanjing Road, 3F Metro Stations: West Nanjing Road (line 2, 12 and 13, exit 2)
Synopsis: Everyone has a story they tell themselves. Those stories, and the beliefs we hold onto to make that story a reality define who we are. The funny thing about beliefs though, is that they change. If we learn something new, we might change what we believe about that subject. It stands to reason, then, that we should be able to change what we believe about ourselves as well, right?
Easier said than done.

Our beliefs define who we are, even when those beliefs stop serving us. Everyone has a set of core beliefs. Those core beliefs can be changed, but it usually takes a lot of work. It’s difficult, but by no means impossible. Money, and our beliefs surrounding it, normally form a part of that core.

About the facilitator: Adrian Cahill is an ICF certified executive coach, and NLP Trainer, certified by Dr. John Grinder, the co-creator of NLP. Adrian works with business owners, founders, entrepreneurs from all over the world in helping them to achieve their ambitions faster and more effectively. Through combining emotional intelligence, positive psychology, mindfulness, and NLP, Adrian works with people who take action and unlocks their full potential.

WELLNESS IS THE NEW CURRENCY OF SUCCESS
with Melissa Ngui, Social Entrepreneur & Wellness Consultant
Tuesday, Dec 18th, 7pm-9pm

This session asks the question “As an advanced society, are we valuing the right things as success symbols?”, with the aim of illustrating why wellness is critical to success. We explore the idea of reducing toxins both in the products we use and in our states of minds.

Firstly, participants are expected to complete a mini checklist of how conscious they are of the many things that deplete their energy in their daily lives. Examples and stats are given to illustrate how many advancements in today’s society are subconsciously negatively affecting our state of mind. Then, a parallel is drawn between developed and underdeveloped communities to compare and contrast the differences between incomes but similarities in negative health outcomes. Next, we look at how the head, heart, and gut work together to support healthy emotional and mental states and how this is being negative affected by today’s fast paced modern society. The emphasis is on “modern” and “advanced” and how these developments are ironically working to suppress healthy states. Finally, practical tools are provided to help reset and bring the body back to balance to promote sustainable wellness and support ongoing success. The workshop concludes by giving a practical approach to maintaining wellness in our daily lives.

Melissa Ngui is a brand strategist and social entrepreneur with 14 years brand management and product development experience having managed international brands such as L’Oreal, Maybelline, Garnier. Her passion for using business to solve social issues has allowed her to work on projects in USA, LATAM, India, Kenya and China. In 2015, she left corporate life to pursue projects that empower marginalized groups through financial and mobile connectivity. She then founded a boutique consulting company providing brand strategy to social enterprises and coaching professional women to set up and run purposeful businesses. Most recently, she has partnered with Doterra as a wellness advocate because she has an avid interest in natural medicine and holistic health after visiting many poverty stricken communities that suffer from disease. Melissa holds an MBA (with a focus on Social Entrepreneurship) from Hult International School of Business and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Aromatherapy and Natural Medicine. She hopes to use her professional experience to empower women to use business to improve their circumstances, and to find natural solutions to support their health. She enjoys learning about different business models, spearheading on-the-ground pilot projects, travelling to remote places, and DIY projects.

BREAKTHROUGH

Imagine yourself about to break a 2 cmkarate board with bare hands, and the toughest part is, instead of 6 monthstraining as you would normally receive in a taekwondo school, then need tolearn in just 20 minutes. You were instructed to put the non dominant footforwards, dominant foot back, lift both arms, lean your dominant hand backwardsto allow you to strike with your lower palm, power is mostly generated by yourlegs and the turning of your body in a similar way to hitting a golf ball. Youmust also hit the wood in the very centre at its weakest point. Then as youwere about to do it, you were thinking ”I hope this breaks”. Will that beenough to break that board? Then in order for it to successfully break that board, you must follow the steps, the process or the system. Then have that attitude.Think that you can and you will. Have the mindset that you insist to do it.Lastly, envision it happening. Anticipate to that “blam!” and to that“crack!”See in the mind’s eye and it will happen. System, mindset and visionaltogether can help you maneuver your way to success. With those three thingshand in hand, you will become bolder and better and more successful.

October workshops

October workshops | Grounded like a tree

I think that Shanghai is the loveliest and most fun city in the world. At the same time, life can be overwhelming here: the large crowds, heavy traffic, excessive noise, strong odors, lights in the night, extreme weather, being so far away from home and the demands of daily life are not always easy to cope with…

As a highly sensitive person, I was struggling in Shanghai with the intense environmental stimuli and I did not know how to find peace enough to calm my anxiety in the middle of such a crazy, populated city…

Luckily realising that I’m a high sensitive person and some grounding techniques helped me to find the harmony I needed to enjoy such a wonderful city:

  • Feeling connected to the earth with every step I take. This allows me to take distance from my thoughts and focus on the present moment. Since I started this practice, I’ve noticed that my spine is straighter and that I walk with more confidence.

  • Journaling: Evernote is a safe space where I can write the crazy thoughts going on my mind, whatever I feel and think in that moment knowing that I’m not going to be judged.
  • Attending MOTIVATE Shanghai workshops: They are the highlight of my week, where I feel 100% alive and get the encouragement and motivation I need for the rest of my week!

WHAT IS AND WHAT ISN’T A GOOD STRATEGY

Mila Dorosh, Executive coach & Business trainer
Tuesday, Oct 9th, 7pm-9pm

A good strategy will determine success of your enterprise, no matter whether it is high-tech company or NGO. I see a lot of business owners struggling to form a strategy but nevertheless running their businesses and investing money and time without reaching the results they were hoping. Even big multinational companies often confuse terms strategy, vision, mission and business goals. During this workshop we will gaze into what a business strategy actually looks like and what is the difference between good strategy and bad strategy. We will check examples of successful strategies and see different types of bad strategies and how they affect the companies that implement them. We will discover types of power that a good strategy will bring into your business, what are major obstacles for people developing their strategies and how can you start working on a successful strategy of your own.

Mila is ICF-certified (ACC) and WABC-certified coach, specializing in individual and team coaching for team leaders and high potential performers. Mila is not however just a dedicated coach professional, she has been using coaching in real life throughout her career to open the minds of her team members and build efficient and effective businesses. WOMEN’S HOLISTIC PSYCHOLOGY ®

Karina Blancarte, Holistic Psychologist M.A.

 Tuesday, October 16th / 7pm-9pm

According to The Mayo Clinic, Pre-Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe, sometimes disabling extension of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Although regular PMS and PMDD both have physical and emotional symptoms, PMDD causes extreme mood shifts that can disrupt your work and damage your relationships.

PMDD is considered a mental disorder according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disease (DSM-5), however, the causes of PMS and PMDD have not been found.

As a matter of fact, Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a medical condition that affects some women of childbearing age. More than one in three women suffer from PMS. One in 20 suffer so severely that their lives are seriously affected.

The lack of understanding and information about what women’s cycle is, is affecting thousands of women causing frustration, discrimination and self-judgment creating an inner and outer lack of balance that most of the times ends up in severe depression affecting women physically, emotionally and mentally.

With the speed we live on a daily basis there’s been acceleration on the levels of depression and anxiety and other mood disorders. Many of them have turned to medication for relief. The use of anti-depressants has increased nearly 400% since 1990.

The talk is designed to cover: A shift in the perception of what women’s cycle is. Understanding the energetic (Energy Psychology) point of view of women’s cycle providing information about the advantages of it, breaking with stigmatized patterns as well as hints to use it as a tool for a balanced and mindful lifestyle.

Karina has completed her M.A. in Holistic Psychology and is currently a Ph.D. candidate from The International University of Professional Studies. She is the owner of The Holistic Center, which provides psychotherapy, Reiki Treatments and Yoga Classes. Her extensive yoga, meditation, and scientific research have taken her to the Amazonian jungle to test and explore the ancient traditions, environmental healing medicine’s impact and to The Himalayas to learn the ancient yoga practices reviving wisdom of yogis. She has delved into science to decode the power of inner energy and mastered personal and social transformation, successfully taking people from suffering to loving, appreciating and unleashing their potential in life.

Compassionate Communication (FULL DAY WORKSHOP)

Speaker:  Tilman Rieger

Saturday, September 8, 2018 09:00 to 17:00
@ Wework, 819 West Nanjing Road, 3F. Shanghai Metro Stations: West Nanjing Road (line 2, 12 and 13, exit 2)

Compassionate Communication (or Non violent Communication (NVC)) is a four step approach helping people to better connect with each other, especially when experiencing conflict. It was developed by the US American Psychologist Marshall Rosenberg and has been spread across the world since the 1980’s. Marshall Rosenberg’s book Non-violent communication is also available in Chinese (非暴力沟通). People applying compassionate communication meet their needs much more effectively while avoiding or resolving conflicts e.g. with colleagues at work, in relationships in private, between parents and children and even across cultures and nations in conflict with each other. Compassionate Communication can also support you to better connect with your clients and/or employees, friends and partner. It helps to build up a non-judgmental attitude of mutual respect that we theoretically all know is important but often fail to realize in practice.

After 15 years of corporate career in the automotive industry Tilman quit his job as HR Director of General Motors Europe in order to focus on developing people. After 600 hours of class room training in Coaching, Mediation and Compassionate Communication/ Non Violent Communication (NVC) he moved to China to start his new career. Based in Shanghai since 2014 he is now consulting, coaching and training Western as well as Asian leaders of multinational corporations. NVC has since then been Tilman’s focus area in Coachings as well as in trainings as a powerful tool to enhance the communication and empathy skills of his clients.

We like to give fear control over our lives. Many of us do this so that we can feel justified about not achieving our goals. We create anxieties about our fears that paralyze us when we need to keep moving forward.

It takes a strong will to overcome our fears, but it can be done.

In this workshop your see how to overcome your fears. Controlling fear takes the ability to be focused and create strong enough reasons to keep pushing forward to your goals even when your fear gets in the way.

Leave this workshop able to:

    • Gain control over your fears so they don’t paralyze you
    • Stay focused on your goals despite your fears
    • Overcome your fear through taking action

Your fear is already fighting you. It wants to hit you hard and knock you down. So fight back, hit harder, and fight to win.

Relationships: From Conflict to Conscious

Speakers: Adrian Cahill PCC, Linxin Cahill

Wednesday, September 26, 2018 19:00 to 21:00
@ Wework, 819 West Nanjing Road, 3F. Shanghai Metro Stations: West Nanjing Road (line 2, 12 and 13, exit 2)
Organizer: MOTIVATE Shanghai

Relationships must be one of the most challenging topics in the world today.
Most people struggle to find a partner worthy of marriage. If they are fortunate to find the one, they are faced with statistics such as over half of marriages end in divorce.

So what is the chances of someone ending up happily married really?

What are the chances of them being happily married and raising kids?

What are the chances of them being happily married, raising kids, and being financially free?

Probably pretty slim but it is completely possible and it is definitely the easiest time in history than it has ever has been before. With advancements in technology and de-centralization of information systems, it is easier than ever but few are achieving it.

Would you like to be happily married, raising kids and financially free? Come to our workshop, Lin and I (Adrian Cahill) will share some of our secrets to doing just this. Particularly around relationships and working it out once in a relationship.

Adrian Cahill, Founder of MOTIVATE Shanghai and his wife, Linxin Zhou will present “From Conflict to Conscious”.
Adrian is a highly accredited and respected international coach (ICF PCC, M.NLP).
Lin is a student of John Gottman, Relationship Therapy and Couples Therapy.
Lin and Adrian are raising two children, a property portfolio and have founded and sponsored MOTIVATE Shanghai since 2013. What makes this workshop so great is that Adrian and Lin have genuinely experienced the struggles first hand. They have studied pretty much EVERYTHING they could on relationships, hired their own psychologist, couples counsellors and still found it a struggle. This drove them to dig far deeper than any ‘dating coach’, blogger or presenter in China. Now they are considering how many more children to have and have truly gone “From Conflict to Conscious”

Why Attend Self-Development Workshops?

Why Attend Self-Development Workshops?

Adapted from an article by Ewen Chia

Did you ever stop and think about why people get so enthusiastic about attending self-development workshops and seminars? In this article, I will reveal to you the benefits that these people get out of attending them.

BROADEN YOUR SCOPE

Firstly, self-development workshops can broaden a person’s scope. I have attended many myself, and every time I learn to see things from different angles and perspectives. It actually makes you think deeper rather than accept things at their face value. It teaches you to ask big questions like “when” and “how”. I would even say that it develops your cognitive thinking because it makes you want to think more. You may even notice how other people fail to see things from your perspective, and that is where you need to realise that these people did not have the privilege of learning what you learnt at the workshop.

IMPROVE YOURSELF

The next benefit about attending personal development courses is pretty obvious, and that is the fact that you get to improve yourself. I have mentioned this point previously in the paragraph above, but apart from broadening your scope, workshops can also help you develop your interpersonal skills and emotional quotient (EQ). There are even some events where you will be forced to step out of your comfort zone and do things that you either fear or dread doing. Hence, you may even overcome your fears at such events.

MEET GREAT PEOPLE

Personal development courses also give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people. This is your chance to network with people who have the same interests as you and form lifelong friendships. You could even take this a step farther by becoming business partners or starting a joint venture together. The possibilities are endless. Most of the speakers in these workshops will encourage you to mix around with other people. However, I encourage you to take the initiative to socialise and get to know others.

February workshops | The love of my life

The month of Love is here and it’s such a perfect opportunity to reflect about love. What if you ask yourself: What’s the love of my life?

I have so many unrelated passions, cycling, dancing, baking, blogging, hiking… and it’s so easy to get distracted. In a moment of desperation, I asked myself: How am I going to find my life purpose if I like so many things? Why can’t I be more focused? At that point, I even hired an astrologist to ask for guidance about my life purpose…

Inspired by Marie Forleo, I finally learned to accept my multipassionate spirit:

Acceptance was such a big blessing and once I accepted, things started unfolding in my favour. It was the summer of 2016 when my dearest friend Katy and I met in a coffee shop to discuss an idea: A series of workshops to support women with their self-development in Shanghai.

Since kicking off with that series, we haven’t stopped. To date, we have organised 80 self development workshops and offered warm support and helpful content to over 100 amazing local and international attendees committed to improving their lives and themselves. I am grateful for this chance to serve the community. Everything is possible with passion! I feel the greatest love for the MOTIVATE Shanghai weekly workshops!

If you have the passion to become better and better, to be surrounded by a supportive community, and to have a lot of fun, join the February workshops and experience great magic with us!

March Workshops | Win Hearts and Minds

I dream about having more clients than my heart could desire, about being one of the most convincing persons on earth… Sales and I have always had a love hate relationship. After finishing my business studies, I decided to become a salesperson. It has been such a wonderful international experience, serving customers from all over the world.

I remember that great joy coming from the accomplishment when singing the contract representing the 80% of my sales. On the other side, I also remember myself swimming in an ocean of rejection and feeling anxiety on my chest…

Despite this, the truth is that I am committed to love sales because I want to be a more effective persuader in work and life: to enrich my community with my sold out workshops, my mum to stop drinking coke, my best friend to break with her cheater boyfriend, to convince myself to run a few miles every morning…

If you are also eager to win hearts and minds of clients, dates, friends, pets… and to create the life you want, join the MOTIVATE Shanghai workshops and you’ll be rocking!!!

Workshop | Butterfly Workshops Life – Coaching Rehearsals

Monday, 5th March 2018, Morana Smolcic & Jooyoung Song for MOTIVATE Shanghai

Scene 1: Man fails to pass his life lesson and waits nervously for what Life has to tell him

Man: Oh gosh. I failed again. So what’s next?
Life: Another rehearsal.
Man: Another rehearsal. Oh no!
Life: Why not?
Man: It’s challenging.
Life: Yes, it is but would you like to stay as a caterpillar in the cocoon and learn nothing or would you fly like a butterfly so you can experience the world and discover all the beauty in life?
Man
: Well, I’d like to learn and gain new experience but I am not sure if I can do that.

To be continued…

We are all put on the stage called Life without having a script or a rehearsal. We diligently play our roles every day. Sometimes we tend to forget, however, our roles can be changed and we always have a chance to rewrite or change the play and have another rehearsal. It is possible to get different perception of ourselves and the world. It is like what a caterpillar does when it breaks its cocoon and transforms into a butterfly. Interestingly enough, we are often unaware that life is full of learning process and our real growth can begin with getting out of the cocoon, our comfort zone of which we rarely step out. Why is that?

It is probably because we fear losing what we are familiar with and pursue what is safe. Also, there is something else that affects our decision to break the cocoon. Society imposes us Life is such a serious mission that we need to work hard to accomplish something. But the truth is often completely opposite. It has been scientifically proven that people who allow themselves to be playful and do not take life circumstances too seriously are more creative and live happier life. The key to break the cocoon lies in spontaneity and creativity in a playful way.

Experts say anyone can be creative even though different people have different talents. “It really has to do with open-mindedness,” says Dr. Carrie Barron, co-author of “The Creativity Cure”. She also suggests creativity can be applied to everything from preparing a meal to generating a business plan. Creativity and spontaneity have the same root: the present moment. When we are in the “flow” of immersing in creative work, we do not pay attention to anything else. It stretches our awareness and allows us to see life circumstances from different perspectives. This kind of state produces long lasting happiness, joy and enthusiasm as a driving force in our lives.

As an expat in Shanghai, anyone can experience the well-known mood roller coaster anytime. But playfulness is what makes seemingly challenging situations less serious and brings creative solutions for current problems. Jooyoung and Morana have had so much fun creating Life Coaching Rehearsals and being engaged with workshop’s participants. It is certainly a challenging job but in the same time very rewarding because it enables them to step out of the cocoon, learn and grow. Every single moment is a new beginning. It is a new rehearsal to rewrite a play called Life.

Adapted techniques from the Theater are our tool to lead people through the self-discovery journey. Coaching mindset is an integral part that follows each theater activity by having reflective discussions.

There is always a new chance for the change whatever challenges we face. It deepens our understanding of the Art of living.

Scene 2: After spending some time to contemplate, Man becomes impatient and asks to Life again

Man: Okay, you are right, I definitely want to FLY. What should I do?
Life: Terrific! I knew you would. Join Butterfly Workshop – Life Coaching Rehearsal.

Break the cocoon! Become aware. You can FLY!!!

Workshop | Cultivating Leaders through trust and service

Wednesday, 21th February 2018, Lilian Shen for MOTIVATE Shanghai

True leaders are not only leading, they are cultivating new leaders and teams through service. We are often led by fear, fear of the unpredictable and try to control situations that are out of our control, especially as leaders where the risks are higher.

In this programme, participants will understand the tools and mindset of improvisers and how these can be used to help them build trust amongst their team. We can better trust others through trusting ourselves and facing our fears head on.

The following article by Samuel Edwards will give you some leadership keys:

When it comes to building a team that can work efficiently together, accomplish mutual goals, and still maintain a good morale while doing so, there’s no more significant quality than trust. Trust allows you to delegate a task without worrying whether it will get done. It allows for faster, more open communication, and gives people a sense that they truly belong within your organization. But trust doesn’t come naturally or easily, and it’s a leader’s job to inspire and facilitate that trust in a team environment. How do the strongest leaders of the business world accomplish this?

1.    Patience. First, you need to demonstrate a strong sense of patience. It’s tempting to want to rush things as much as possible, especially if your business is new or young, but that level of impetuousness creates an uncomfortable environment for your team. Pressure is good, but too much pressure can make employees feel like they’re worthless unless they hit your unrealistic goals. Impatience can also imply that you suffer from a degree of impetuousness, which makes your team doubt your motives, or your capacity to lead a team in the first place. Instead, take your time in your thoughts and actions, and express understanding when things go wrong.

2.    Calm. You’re going to face some emotionally challenging moments as a leader, and often as a direct result of your team’s actions. During these moments, it’s essential that you remain as calm as possible. Feel free to express your emotions, even if those emotions are negative (more on that in a moment), but do so in a restrained, stoic manner. The minute you fly off the handle at anything–whether it’s a team member or circumstances beyond any of your control, your team will start to see you as unstable. They’ll be afraid to come to you with negative information or criticisms, and their trust in their environments will shrink.

3.    Transparency. One of the best ways to build trust with others is to show your personal side. If you make yourself vulnerable and express something in confidence to your team, they’ll be more or less inclined to reciprocate. Remain as transparent as possible in your actions as a leader, letting your team know what you’re thinking, the motivations behind your direction, and any doubts or concerns you may have. Remember, as a leader, you’ll be serving as a role model, so the more transparent you are in your actions, the more transparent your team will be in theirs. They’ll also learn to see you as a more sympathetic human being, which is indispensable.

4.    Openness. To build trust, you’ll also need to establish an open environment, where all team members are encouraged to express their thoughts and opinions. You can do this in your team meetings, by asking that everyone bring something to the table. Facilitate conversation by allowing every team member to speak, and make sure all your other team members show respect and listen to each other. This open environment will gradually teach your team that it’s okay to voice an opinion.

5.    Flexibility. Demonstrating a bit of flexibility in your workplace can also facilitate trust. When workers feel more comfortable in the workplace, they’ll treat it almost as a second home, and they’ll treat their coworkers a bit like family members. This is significantly trickier to pull off in the context of a large corporation, but smaller companies and startups should have no trouble allowing this flexibility and creating this type of environment. For example, you can allow more time for personal breaks, establish flexible hours or remote work days, or offer negotiable deadlines on certain projects and tasks. This is an implied demonstration of trust to your workers, and again, they’ll be likely to reciprocate.

6.    Mutual feedback. Feedback is the only way for anything to improve, and it has to work both ways. When you give your workers honest feedback (positive or negative, so long as it’s constructive), it shows that you’re genuinely invested in their development. When workers give you feedback and you sincerely listen to it (and/or act upon it), they’ll feel more empowered, and more secure in their positions. Only by giving and receiving feedback in this way will you be able to generate enough trust to delve into deeper and more controversial forms of feedback.

7.    Ongoing team exercises. Team trust is best facilitated through active team engagement, but that doesn’t always mean working together on projects and tasks. It could mean conducting teambuilding exercises, or something less formal like having lunch or office gatherings after hours. Your teammates need to get to know each other on a personal level, at least to some degree, if they’re going to trust and support one another. Every team member is unique, and they’ll need to engage with the group to account for one another’s strengths and weaknesses.

These are tactics, dispositions, and characteristics that strong leaders can use to build trust within a team–but don’t expect them to be shortcuts. In many cases, these are merely prerequisites, or pre-existing environmental conditions that allow for the development of trust, rather than creating it directly. Trust requires time and experience, as your workers spend more time with one another and become more familiar with their circumstances. Don’t try to rush the process, or you’ll end up negating your efforts.

Introduction into Non Violent Communication

Tuesday, 6th February 2018, Tilman Rieger for MOTIVATE Shanghai

Communication is a basic human activity that everyone should continue to work on to be more effective in life and at work.  After all, it is our main tool to connect with one another. It is a competency that is acquired throughout life but unfortunately not always in the most effective way which can then cause frustration, fear, relationship problems, childhood difficulties, violence and even wars.

The Psychologist Dr. Marshall Rosenberg has developed a simple, yet powerful method to help this problem. He calls it Non violent communication (NVC). NVC can save marriages, help parents raise their children, schools and all other institutions to function better. It can even stop rapes and murders by shifting the attacker’s focus away from anger.

NVC teaches people how to:

a)    Remain connected while communicating in challenging situations.
b)    Prevent the counterpart from becoming defensive.
c)    Take responsibility for our own feelings, words and actions.
d)    Do not take responsibility for the feelings of others.

Improving our communication techniques can help us keeping an attitude of mutual respect. Poor communication methods tend to stop communication altogether, or drop it down into the survival mode, where we tend to compete rather than cooperate to solve our problems.

workshop in shanghai how to be happy

Workshop | Introducing an unique methodology to be happy!

Tuesday 16th January 2018, Albin Warin for MOTIVATE Shanghai

workshop in shanghai how to be happy

Hello Everybody

I am Albin王乐心

For those who don’t know me you can see me sometimes around Donghu road in Shanghai, they called me the mayor there 🙂

I’ve spent 6 years in Shanghai.

For the last 10 years I’ve been creating business around the world: France, Japan, USA and China. Each of them taught me something that led me to my next venture.

Sometimes as an entrepreneur, I felt lonely in front of an issue or decision to take. It’s hard to share with family, they can be worried about you. It’s also hard to share true feelings with friends because we have our pride and face issue.

So in 2017 when a CRISIS happened to me, I wondered what really matters to me in life. In chinese the word CRISIS means opportunity and danger at the same time.

I took the positive side of it and decided that in my last 10 years of business and 32 years of life, I always enjoyed sharing stories with people and help them to solve issues and somehow to be happier.

I also decided to take action, I joined a Harvard course on positive psychology to dig more into the subject and started a 100 people life purpose experiment. From 18 to 80 years old diverse backgrounds I investigated the source of happiness for them.

This led me to create my own methodology to make people Happier.

In this workshop people learnt about:

  • The pillars of happiness

  • Key questions you probably never ask yourself to find your source of happiness

  • Different tips to be happier you can use in daily life

Thanks for your support, love you.
