March Workshops | Win Hearts and Minds

I dream about having more clients than my heart could desire, about being one of the most convincing persons on earth… Sales and I have always had a love hate relationship. After finishing my business studies, I decided to become a salesperson. It has been such a wonderful international experience, serving customers from all over the world.

I remember that great joy coming from the accomplishment when singing the contract representing the 80% of my sales. On the other side, I also remember myself swimming in an ocean of rejection and feeling anxiety on my chest…

Despite this, the truth is that I am committed to love sales because I want to be a more effective persuader in work and life: to enrich my community with my sold out workshops, my mum to stop drinking coke, my best friend to break with her cheater boyfriend, to convince myself to run a few miles every morning…

If you are also eager to win hearts and minds of clients, dates, friends, pets… and to create the life you want, join the MOTIVATE Shanghai workshops and you’ll be rocking!!!

This is just one example of the weekly self-development sessions currently held in Shanghai. For more information CLICK HERE to sign up for our next workshop, please visit MOTIVATE Shanghai on Yoopay or scan here.

Introduction into Non Violent Communication

Tuesday, 6th February 2018, Tilman Rieger for MOTIVATE Shanghai

Communication is a basic human activity that everyone should continue to work on to be more effective in life and at work.  After all, it is our main tool to connect with one another. It is a competency that is acquired throughout life but unfortunately not always in the most effective way which can then cause frustration, fear, relationship problems, childhood difficulties, violence and even wars.

The Psychologist Dr. Marshall Rosenberg has developed a simple, yet powerful method to help this problem. He calls it Non violent communication (NVC). NVC can save marriages, help parents raise their children, schools and all other institutions to function better. It can even stop rapes and murders by shifting the attacker’s focus away from anger.

NVC teaches people how to:

a)    Remain connected while communicating in challenging situations.
b)    Prevent the counterpart from becoming defensive.
c)    Take responsibility for our own feelings, words and actions.
d)    Do not take responsibility for the feelings of others.

Improving our communication techniques can help us keeping an attitude of mutual respect. Poor communication methods tend to stop communication altogether, or drop it down into the survival mode, where we tend to compete rather than cooperate to solve our problems.
